I have always had a fascination with
law enforcement. I attended a car show
in Downtown Los Angeles and stopped by a booth for the Reserve program.
Nine months
later, I was enrolled in the academy. I am 70 years old, and at present
have 30 years with the Department.
During my professional career, I was a contracts administrator
in the aerospace industry. I am now retired.
Along with my family and friends, I take great pride in the fact that
I volunteer my services to the Department.
A lot of people complain about society
and its problems. I have the satisfaction that I contribute to society
in a most positive way and my wife shares in that commitment.
Due to my law enforcement background, I was invited
to apply for part-time employment at the Reagan Presidential Library
as a security agent. I assisted the Secret Service whenever the President
would visit. Based on my performance, I was invited into the President’s
private office. The President and I posed for a picture together which
he later autographed for me.
This program will expose you to all aspects of life
in our society and will
enrich your life. There are no greater rewards, no greater feeling.
That is why
I am a Reserve. That is why you should become a Reserve.
