Growing
up in the Los Angeles area, I’ve always had a desire
to work in law enforcement and give back to the community.
I am a president of a large moving and storage company. While
working my day job, I have also been a Reserve Officer for
eight years.
Community service has always been rewarding and it’s
fun. I’ve served my country for five years in the United
States Navy as a helicopter crewman and rescue swimmer. I’ve
volunteered for the past twenty years at a kids summer camp.
I also serve on a City of Los Angeles Business Improvement
District (BID) committee. I get a lot of satisfaction of helping
others and the Reserve program gives me that satisfaction.
Being a Reserve Officer is very exciting. I’ve volunteered my
time as a Patrol Officer, in the Bicycle Unit, and just recently I was
selected to become a Motorcycle Officer. What sets LAPD apart are the
opportunities and the training the Department has to offer.
My family is very important to me. They
help me balance my full-time career and my life as a Reserve Officer.
The camaraderie that you get from
being a Reserve Police Officer is something that is very
special and that you don’t get from the business world.
If you want to help make a difference, I encourage you to
become a Reserve Officer.
